In June 2009, Evergreen Chorus participated in "A Greater You in The Greater New York Region," an unprecedented, region-wide membership campaign.   Evergreen offers free voice lessons and an opportunity for women to experience first-hand the "real women, real fun, and real harmony" of Sweet Adelines International.

"Each chorus is hosting Open House rehearsals the entire month of June, and we invite women singers to find "A Greater You in the Greater New York Region."   Regional Membership Coordinator, Dolly Power, said, "Women are pulled in many different directions; work, home, family.   They are looking for some fun to call their own.   Sweet Adelines International offers educational, leadership, social, and of course, performance opportunities."

We welcome singing women of all ages to come and join us.   Evergreen Chorus is a non-profit educational organization and chapter of Sweet Adelines International.   Always working to expand and improve our musical performing skills through weekly practice sessions, private voice instruction, choreography rehearsals, and coaching; Evergreen Chorus prides itself in encouraging women to grow and improve while having fun and learning to express themselves through the craft of a cappella singing.  

We invite interested Women Singers to come visit our rehearsals or coaching sessions to get a taste of what Evergreen Chorus and Sweet Adelines International are all about.   Our Membership Coordinator is Pat Fleming and we invite you to email or call Pat at 845-797-4890 for more information.

Evergreen Chorus rehearses nearly every Tuesday evening from 7-9:30pm at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 110 Overlook Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.   To make sure we are rehearsing, give Pat Fleming a call at 845-797-4890.   The church phone number is: (845) 452-6832.   Directions to Saint Andrew's are shown below.   Click here for more detailed directions and maps.  

Directions:

  • From the Rte 44/55 (the Arterial) heading East through Poughkeepsie, bear right onto Rte 55 where it splits from Rte 44.
  • Continue 1.7 miles & turn left onto Overlook Rd (County Rte 46) – at a traffic light where you see HG Page diagonally to your right.
  • Continue 0.2 miles & find St. Andrew’s on your right. (If you get to Debra T’s ice cream, you went too far.)
